I'm sorry, that you can't hurt me
I'm so sorry, that you won't haunt me
For I have built my walls high
And your words can no longer make me cry
I'm sorry, that you can't break me
I'm so sorry, that you won't shake me
For I have found my strength within
And your actions can no longer make me cringe
I'm sorry, that you can't wound me
I'm so sorry, that you won't consume me
For I have learned to love myself
And your presence can no longer cause me to shelf
I'm sorry, that you can't harm me
I'm so sorry, that you won't alarm me
For I have found peace in my soul
And your negativity can no longer take its toll
I'm sorry, that you can't control me
I'm so sorry, that you won't console me
For I have taken back my power
And your manipulation can no longer make me cower
I'm sorry, that you can't hurt me
I'm so sorry, that you won't haunt me
For I have moved on from the pain
And your memory can no longer leave a stain
I'm sorry, that you couldn't see
I'm so sorry, that you couldn't be
A better person, a kinder soul
But your past mistakes, now take their toll
I'm sorry, that you chose to hurt
I'm so sorry, that you couldn't avert
The damage you caused, the wounds you left
But I refuse to let them be my theft
I'm sorry, that I couldn't hold on
I'm so sorry, that I couldn't stay strong
But in order to survive, I had to let go
And now I stand tall, with my head held low
I'm sorry, that you can't hurt me
I'm so sorry, that you won't haunt me
For I have healed, from all your pain
And your attempts to hurt me, have been in vain
I'm sorry, but I'll no longer hide
I'm so sorry, but I'll no longer abide
By your toxic words, your venomous touch
I am no longer under your clutch
I'm sorry, for all the tears I shed
I'm so sorry, for the words left unsaid
But now I stand, with courage and might
For I am done with the endless fight
I'm sorry, that you couldn't change
I'm so sorry, that you remained the same
But I have grown, and I have learned
That I am the one who truly earned
The power to forgive and let go
To rise above, and let my heart glow
I'm sorry, but I am finally free
From the hold you once had over me
So I'll say it one last time
I'm sorry, that you can't hurt me
I'm so sorry, that you won't haunt me
For I have found my peace, my serenity
And nothing you do, can ever take that from me.
