Despair comes pulsing
At irregular intervals
Spoiling the calm
Like a knife into a new pot
Of jam
A gaping wound is left
I grasp at control
As numb fingers
Fail to button a shirt
The intricacies unperturbed by
Fat digits
I’m all at sea
An imbecilic lack
Of understanding prevails
Blind to the beauty of
An oxymoronic universe
Mocking
Those of us who can’t submit
This elephantine fist
Continues to grasp
Oafishly at the butterfly
Now a palm mural
Explaining
Wretched impotence
The infant naked
The necessary expert
Teaches us
Res ipsa locquitur
Reliance
Is Freedom
