In A Cold Rockery Poem by Sally Evans

In A Cold Rockery

Edelweiss
in a cold rockery
colour of ivory
dark-soiled
in a Scottish lowland
between stones
near to a wall

Seed-crusted
snow-capped
Hidden by trees
till she searches

Honey sickle
glowing like moths
under moonlight

three wicked gems
blistering white gold
illness, incompetence
and terror cluster,
wickedness and gems.
