In A Silent Expectation Poem by Daleen Enslinstrydom

In A Silent Expectation

With each day life awakes
in a silent expectoration after the night
when it is dark from the hours of yesterday,
when every day becomes the criterion
for time that has not been lived yet

and when the day comes to its end
we do know that it’s a day that is counting
and every new morning
is the canvas of the future
that has not yet been lived
and there is still emptiness for today.
