In Absentia Poem by Quaid - Uz- Zaman

In Absentia

Nothing unusual will happen.
Laws are distinct and universal,
Sine qua non of time and place.

I may have composed a thousand lines,
But they never hold an image,
Pure and immutable.

As nothing is pure and absolute,
Of theories and manifestos,
We wonder and keep wandering.

We only hold dreams and desires,
Of tears and joys,
Or we hold what is left and leaks out.

I believe that out of chaos,
Serenity suitably
Comes in.

Clouds are swimming
And stars are falling; all in quiet and peace—
As usual.
