In His Hand Poem by Michael P. Johnson

In His Hand

However wrong we’ve been in life
Whatever life we’ve led
But if we’ve caused someone strife
God wouldn’t want us dead

But live, live, God wants us live
He wants us stay alive
He longs a sinner to forgive
And through His Son survive

It’s not the sin, or sin’s amount
Nor how or what we’ve done
Nothing remains on man’s account
When saved through Christ His Son

It’s not how dark we think our shame
Even how deep we fall
But if we trust in Jesus’ name
And answer to His call

How filthy now we think to be
How long a fool we’ve played
Forgiveness is our guarantee
Through Christ all debts are paid

Through Jesus’ blood, we’re safe and sound
Made righteous through God’s love
Sure to rise on holy ground
With Heaven’s King above

However rough however tough
What lies we’ve had to tell
In life we cannot sin enough
God cannot save from hell

We’re free we’re free and free I’ll stay
When this you understand
Whatever darkness does today
Be in our Saviour’s hand
