In Moonlit Night Poem by Samarendranath Mahapatra

In Moonlit Night

Waves are very busy
kissing the lips of beach.
Beach is occupied
tressing pearls from sea.
Sea is busy in coition with sky.
Sky is engaged
weaving blue-dream's net.

Green paddy field on the ground
waving leafy laughter.
Stem to stem flower's veil
& butterfly's steady song.
Mind's room is fragrant
with Jasmine's odour.
Some enchanting mantras
shivering the body's shrine.

Ah! how cosily
I am dazing on a chair
holding a flute in my hand!
The darkness is sitting
with folded legs
under the couch
in lunar fear.
