In My Love True, Spring To Life Anew

Rating: 5.0

I met you, and now in my eye is a gleam,
And in my life now joy is a stream,
Awake and asleep alike, I dream,
Help me, O Lord,
That, Dear,
I run not out of steam,
That you and I never tear at the seaM.

If in your face I should look, and smile at you,
If in my arms I should hold and embrace you,
May it be, that such things you never rue,
Help me, O Lord,
That, Dear,
They be real smiles, true,
That all pretences I may eschew.

If I should be present in your moments of pain,
If you should come to me in your season of drain,
And when in my bosom your head you have lain,
Help me, O Lord,
That, Dear,
It be from concern without feign,
That far from me be any disdain.

If I should grow, one day, to love you,
If for you my heart should beat the love tattoo,
May it never be that I make you blue,
Help me, O Lord,
That, Dear,
It be a love so true,
That in the glow of my love, you'll spring to life anew.

A lovely piece of poetry beautifully brought forth. Indeed, love needs nurturing to sustain its bliss. I concur with your convictions. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
