In My Misery (Words And Music Dr Ian Inkster 2016)

In my Misery/Oh Watchman (Ian Inkster 2017)

Let me lie let me die in my misery Let me cry, let me lie down in my misery
Let me lie, let me cry, let me die die die in my misery.

O Watchman, thou hast watched in vain. They say that no man's mind is ever safe
And here's a man whose lost his faith, Oh Watchman thou hast watched in vain.
A healthy leech may take half an ounce, has taken half an ounce from me
That all might know the simple Truth, and the Truth might make us free.

I will be blessed and bad in my misery I will go down down down in my misery
I can lay around in my misery I wanna be a clown, be around in my misery

O Watchman, thou hast watched in vain. They say that no man's mind is ever safe
And here's a man whose lost his faith, Oh Watchman thou hast watched in vain.
A healthy leech may take half an ounce, has taken half an ounce from me
That all might know the simple Truth, and the Truth might make us free.

Down down down down down … down in my misery …..

Abound down down …. In my misery …

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This short song has simple lyrics that are - however - fulsome in literary allusion! I am sure many Poemhunters will spot the references! I wrote it last year when I was perfectly happy!
