In Retrospect Poem by Lindsey Wolf

In Retrospect

Rating: 4.5

One year to today,
And there I would have found you
In that hospital bed where you lay,
Suffering, your only digested food.

I could see your pain.
Affliction, both body and soul.
And I could not stop the rain,
The Shepherd sheathing the lamb’s wool.

And I would have given all of me
To spare you from that hell
Clouded eyes, still cannot see
Why the tolling of the bell took you from me…

this is great! very simple, but ultimately effective...if this is based on something personal that happened to you then my deepest sympathy, is there any chance you could check out a poem or two of mine and tell me what you think? thankyou and all the best to you!
