Whilst wandering blind, with heart of stone
Through clouds of deep despair
No love was found to call my own
My burden none would share
In search, I came to Zion hill
I browsed God’s holy mound
I know it was the Father’s will
That I in Christ be found
By grace I sat at Jesus’ feet
Upon His arm I’d lean
Like Ruth amidst the golden wheat
I’d sought God’s love to glean
For love I’d wandered far and wide
With torn and aching heart
Now with His Flame that burns inside
Christ vowed He’d never part
For me! Life’s Light came down to die
Full God yet flesh and blood
He gave to me what none can buy
Beneath that cross of wood
His cup is mine to drink at will
His Spirit and His Flame
He said for me to drink my fill
To purge my filth and shame
Today I smile where once I cried
Such joy and peace I’ve found
My Jesus wants me join His bride
And live on hallowed ground
God called before my mother’s womb
Before the dawn of life
I’m saved by grace from endless gloom
To be my Saviour’s wife.
