In Spirit & In Truth (2) Poem by Michael P. Johnson

In Spirit & In Truth (2)

Wake up Come now before your King
Repent and turn to me
Let truthful hearts your praises sing
Let Jesus set you free

Some think they’re saved still dressed in shame
That all they do is right
But all their works must pass the Flame
And all is in my sight

That some molest the smallest waif
That man lies down with man
Your poor and old aren’t even safe
Was this to be my plan

These things you do by light of day
You find in there no shame
You think because you sometimes pray
Your words will take the blame

If you persist in running wild
You can’t be one of mine
Away I’ll say you wicked child-
And cut you from the Vine

You say that I’m a God of love
I’ll always be the same
Beware that I from high above-
Don’t send consuming Flame

Take heed your lambs are but the best
The choicest, you can give
That now your deeds will pass the test
So in my Son you’ll live

The truth my child you need inside
Your heart made pure and clean
To be a righteous holy bride
To live as Jesus’ queen.
