In The Beginning Poem by Michael P. Johnson

In The Beginning

In the beginning, at the start
So was Satan’s plan
Dire evil grew in the heart
The consciousness of man

Jesus was there and saw it all
Father & Spirit too
Witnessing the dreadful fall
Which Satan led them to

Perfect! Adam and Eve were made
Each in their Father’s form
How soon perfection was to fade
Within man’s primal storm

Such harsh consequences pursued
Man’s genesis of plight
Man and wife completely nude
Were cast out in the night

Crying screaming to and fro
Wondering what to do?
With what and where, had they to go?
To live how no one knew!

Alone, alone so dreadful alone
The two began to cry
With hearts cold as lifeless stone
They sought their Lord on high

Could He forgive would He relent?
Would God remain so stern?
Would He allow them to repent?
And let them both return

But righteous! Is The Mighty One
His sadness wouldn’t fade
Only through Christ is favour won
And restitution made Michael P. Johnson
