Prayag Saikia

In The Far Sky - Poem by Prayag Saikia

It's Christmas time
Ma in hospital
I bought a star
Modelled after the one
That appeared in the sky
Of Bethlehem
My daughter yearns for this star
Her name
I don't know why
I put up the star
Somewhat unseasonally
It had been three days
For the Christmas Eve
She was watching to the sky
Looking for Grandma
She added, Papa
Where can I find Grandma
