In Your Presence Poem by Jimmy L. Lyons

In Your Presence

This mess I'm in is getting too old;
I've been going through trials and tribulation,
and I've been fighting temptation;
Lord, I want to be in your presence.

I've been crying tears of madness;
trying to put away the sadness.3
I'm so, so so hungry, but not for food;
I just want to stop singing the blues.

I just came out of Sunday school,
and I'm still hungry for Christ.
I no longer want to put up a fight,
I just want to be in your presence.

I don't want to feel any more of this pain;
I just want to be happy, like singing in the rain.
I want to let go, let God, and be blessed;
I just want to be in your presence.
