Infamous Bloody Words

INFAMOUS BLOODY WORDS
By Steven A. J. Drake
March 8,2012

More or less
To do something brilliant.
Back in the day when poets
Were heroes.
At an early age I had an
Instinct to write lyrics.
Out the window for a place
To live. No safety out of love
For any forgiveness.
Eyes bleeding for truth
Past astounding fiction.

Crypt. Loose ends.
Depth of death's perception.
Words scattered. Grief's trying times.
No farther.
Empty rooms. Lain across barriers.
Open to God alone.
Without any favors. Talk
To the air off all indifference.
Spare the rode in facts gone.
Illicit behavior.
Family plans stealing wealth.

Cornered off.
Nothing sacred. Bible
Belts. Southern lines. Baptized in
The mountains.
Coming home to shadows in the
Darkness. Spirits gone to
Mortal combat. World War II.
Korea. Viet Nam. Songs heard.
Relatives. Crying
Uncle. Stepping stones.
Preordained. Glass houses.

Primordial.
Back stories. Lost to youth.
After merits. Vilified.
Terror in
The midst. Absconded dreamers…
Heretofore. Erstwhile gone
Out to the entire world.
False piety in minds not real.
Stealing glory. Fast
Talkers sing praises
That they have never owned.

Treasure troves.
Secrets buried. Stealth of
Their chosen fields. Written
Off. Lies kill.
The innocence. Preplanned by
Ego concentric will.
Check your mates. Frozen skill.
Hell for damnation's thrills. Betided.
Rules have failed. Sold out.
Beggars. Brutal souls.
Feloniously built.

Hide nor hair.
Crosses shockingly shared.
Witnesses. Feigned property.
Take on life
To shudder out of here. Spell
Bound. Nether lands clear.
Songs for hearth of heartache
Spared. Beyond traditions. Belied.
Future fortuitously
Spared. Critical claims.
Infamous bygone friends.

Slipshod. Earned
By whom in throes? Cherished.
But undertows. Entitlements.
To the hilt.
Weight upon my shoulders. Spent
In quest of life's long
Journey. Heard by nothing
But astonished fear. At risk of
Saving graces shot to
Hell. Considered for
Bravery's bloody words.
