Inheritance Of Contradiction Poem by Irfan Habeeb A M K

Inheritance Of Contradiction

They forget they are their successors,
yet never forget to criticize.

They forgot to teach love
but showed them how to divide.

They forgot to teach ethics
but never fail to speak against.

They forgot to teach unity
but never fail to compare.

All they did was empower themselves,
claiming they were right,
that the new ones had lost their way.

But they forgot—
the same blood flows,
the same lessons were passed down.

As a child, I wondered too—
why was closeness forbidden,
but hatred and clashes allowed?
