Insecure, a whisper in the mind
A shadow that lingers, always behind
A constant companion, we cannot shake
An unwelcome guest, we cannot escape
It starts with a doubt, a seed so small
But it grows and thrives, it consumes us all
Creeping and crawling, like a vine
Insecurity, a poison so divine
It masks itself in many ways
Shyness, jealousy, fear on display
Hiding our true selves, in a cloak of lies
Insecurity, it's the master of disguise
At first glance, it may seem weak
But don't be fooled, it's strong and sleek
A master of manipulation and doubt
It feeds on our weaknesses, it loves to flout
Insecurity, it appears unappealing
But it's a mask, a cover for our true feeling
Underneath lies vulnerability and pain
Insecurity, it's the source of our disdain
We try to hide it, with a smile and a grin
But inside, we're crumbling within
We fear judgment and rejection
Insecurity, it's our greatest infection
But listen closely, for I have found
Insecurity, it has a way to confound
For in our struggles, we find strength
In our journey, we learn to go the length
We may appear weak, in the eyes of some
But in our hearts, we know we've won
For we have faced our deepest fears
And come out strong, with battle scars as souvenirs
So don't be fooled by insecurity's facade
It may seem unappealing, but it's not all bad
For in the midst of our deepest pain
We find our strength, and learn to love again.
