Inside A Black Hole Poem by Mary Champion

Inside A Black Hole

Inside a black hole?
Everything I have lost
throughout my life that
disappeared without a trace
while my back was briefly turned.

The pen I put down
on an empty tabletop -
never seen again
There was no one to nick it
and ‘twas not on the floor.

Things I know I put
carefully in a safe place
that wasn't so safe-
the missing glove or brolly -
not to mention the lovers.
