My shield, my protection.
My pride, my arrogance, my ego.
My wall.
Guarding my wounded heart,
And protecting my light from darkness.
My wall is so high.
Keeping others outside.
They try to tear down my wall.
But fall, it does not.
It only grows higher.
My light, they wish to steal.
My wall cannot be destroyed from the outside,
It can only be destroyed from within.
Many have tried to climb it, but have failed.
I can open my door, which is sealed from the inside.
I can open it and let you in.
Inside, it is not a dark place, but a place filled with light.
Though my weapons make it appear dark on my inside.
It is there to keep the darkness out.
To protect myself from those who mean to steal my light.
For my light, is my precious gift I will protect.
If I open my door to you, my light I will share.
It is my darkness that protects my light,
And through my darkness you must walk to get to it.
It is your bright light that embraces my darkness.
It turns my darkness into light.
