Integrity Poem by Nathaniel Graves

Integrity

A shadowed defeat
Of the continuous
Stranger.
Portraying a
Constance of
No longer than,
And no wider than,
One's willingness
To the matter at hand;
To the hand that
Unfolds on the
Underside
Of what we do
Right
And
Wrong.
Of all the rights
And wrongs;
Of all the peace
It prolongs...
Then –
I suppose –
Jurisdiction
Would be inevitable...
And the authority above?
Inevitable...
And above that?
Inevitable...
And above all?
Ourselves...
But conformation
Will consume the
Consonant –
'We' –
In integrity,
Forcing us
Unoriginal,
With no hope...
Only 'god',
And the epitome
Of ourselves.

'God is imminent, god is lost...'
