Intermediate Poem by Samantha Bolden

Intermediate

I pile up layer upon layer of insomnia
Broken bones
Teeth destroyed
My life-shattered
Butterfly Smetana

Carrot moss grows from my eyes
Where are the acids and the alkalines

My body-my matter
No, of course it isn't so
The eternal cycle is our God
I'm a mine dwarf

They are shocked
If you lose again
They're duped
All my thoughts are mashed

Poison streams from my pores
My pen is missing
My handwriting is puffed up
Where are all the mutes
They will tear the world apart with their screams
