Into The Unknown

On the brink of the abyss
with a blindfold tied tight
should I step into the mist
or retreat back to the light?

I don't know what's in there
whether it be ground or a fall
I don't know if I dare
take the step and risk it all.

If I choose to turn back
into the ease of the light
forever I will lack
the comfort of sight.

Now is the time for my decision to come
shall I jump into the darkness or go back to where I'm from
I put one foot forward hesitantly
and step in the dark so again I can see.
