Is Life A Quiz? Poem by Mary Champion

Is Life A Quiz?

It is definitely a Universal challenge,
frequently a puzzle
and riddled with obstacles.
But is it a quiz?
It presents us with knotty problems
and supplies very few answers,
some of which come with missing questions.
It is a cause of confusion
and gives rise to feelings of inadequacy.
Some people get punished for having the wrong answers,
but others forge ahead regardless.
Just when you think you have it sorted
it trips you up with a trick question.
It is more like playing one of those interactive computer games -
without any idea what the rules are
or what you are supposed to achieve.
You wonder through it in a daze
until you fall into a snake-pit
or get crushed when Prince Charming
smashes the glass slipper over your head
and shacks up with an ugly brother.
It seems fairly Pointless
even Eggheads and Masterminds have trouble with it,
so, we who are the weakest links don't have a prayer.
