Loneliness drowns her like a flooding river.
Her anguish is unheard.
As she is swept towards the ocean of non-existence,
a scream cuts through the roar of waves.
But was it hers?
Fractured memories are stranded on the shore,
and her soul sinks into oblivion.
When the dawn-light flickers
and the devastation is revealed,
we start to question our blindness,
ask what we could have done -
if only we had known.
But she never allowed us the intimacy
that might have saved her.
