It Pays Off In The End Poem by Nirupa Narine

It Pays Off In The End

The candle retired and he sat in the darkness,
He thought he was alone
But what he didn't know,
Was that there was someone lurking behind him.

Following his every move,
Watching him as a hawk would as he studied his prey,
Waiting for him to let his guard down and then he would attack.
He had great advantages,
as he appeared invisible to the human eyes.

But what he didn't know,
was that his prey possessed great powers
He could only haunt him and move things around,
But he could never get inside his head,
Because he was gifted and blessed by God,
Through his service to humanity.
