It's A Different Story Poem by Prafulla Kumar Panda

It's A Different Story

That day
when indecisively I sat
like the great Prince Hamlet
letting my hours idly pass
suddenly, like a cherub
you appeared and advised-
'to avoid ‘fire'
and to stop the ball of it to roll'
not crazy I was unlike others
quite sure, I had to heed
as catastrophe the summary of it'd breed
what should I perform!

i ask myself this questions
hould I escape through the narrow path
and remain oblivion
or toil from morn till night
still like a peasant stay unnoticed
or, noticeably roll up to see
and thrive in the edifice of 'I'-
stand firm like a shady tree
to withstand the storm pass by
and wait for the turn of the mass
whom I will gracefully embrace
until they cool down and warmly rejoice
to lead them from nowhere to somewhere

when the cat is out
the mice do not hoot
it's wise to learn
there is life in hibernation
when the killer dangerously strolls
and invisibly prowls
from one target to the other
let me shut myself indoor
and pray to my Lord-
'to lessen the suffering
and lift up my soul
in between, I have no remorse
when my spirit reverberates
and flies like a bird to every part
to hone my musing and my thought

as soon his time exhausts
i will come out one fine day
and rise with the new sun
to play my partbefore light, camera and action go off
i shall walk the path which others have least walked
at ease to accept the hardships
for an easy life plays many mischief
when the path is zigzag and dreary
that only adds to a different story.
