Jailbird Poem by Lauren Domen

Jailbird

Rating: 5.0

Little jailbird trying to fly
Taking one day at a time, just trying to get by
Held back by the chains that surrounds you
You cry out for help too
Yet nobody can hear
You are blocked off from everything you hold dear
Fly higher and higher and meet another wall
Nobody can hear your frustrated call
Fight the chains that tie you down
And listen for the freedoms sound
I don’t know your story, I don’t know you
But I can hear your freedom, I hear you.
