Jesus Saw Me As I Am Poem by Gideon Arthur

Jesus Saw Me As I Am

A wretched though I be
Striving here and there
To find a rest maybe
And die with a heart that's bear

Jesus saw me
As I am
He lifted me
Farther than
I could dream
To stand at the shores of the stream

Lost in deep darkness
Nothing I could see
A torch overcame blindness
Then I saw Jesus standing beside me

In the world I had lived
Submerged in pleasures that fade
From it I have leaved
To Jesus, the everlasting shade

Stone hearted I was
A heart of flesh I have
I can now smile without a pause
Jesus Christ has given me love

I can't keep mute
But stand and tell the world
How Jesus gave me the saving suite
That the world may seek the word
