Judges Prayer Poem by ronald meseck

Judges Prayer

Oh God! , What a most perplexing task that has been given to me
To have this power to decide life or death in situations of complexity
In the far reaches of my mind these enigmatic decisions I must make
I ask myself are they too harsh or too overly kind
To Thee I pray that justice and righteousness be not blind
Please guide me as for these I must find
I must be wary of falsehoods and innuendos
Yes Lord, for all wrongs we must undo those

Oh how and why has our universe become so advanced in technologies
The annals of time has handed me today's problems and their ambiguities
Lend me your hand to hold this balance of justice steady
Remove this blindfold that is taunt over my eyes as I must ready
To render decisions that is in their accords fair and just
To keep all that is moral I must adjudicate in Your trust
Let me search my soul and my very self for these to unravel
Give me that strength to do right when I drop my gavel
