Jukebox Poem by Michael Ernst

Jukebox

She's back every night about this time
Looking for my music, quotes, or maybe a line
So her memory starts feeding coins to jukebox in my mind

So play, guitar play
Take me back to yesterday
Back to a time she still loved me
And I was all her eyes could see

Hey drums, keep that beat
Reminds me of her heart so sweet
Pushed and pulled by this fools games
The way a breeze can tease a candles flame

Words, give me the words to sing
The ones to put her finger back through this ring
A perfect blend of heart and rhyme
To bring her back to me until the end of time

So play, jukebox play
