Just As It Was Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Just As It Was

Hello, each and every one
God bless this wondrous day
What about Jesus Christ God’s Son
Hear what I have to say

Dreadful depressed, as oft times before
Feeling sorry alone
Seeing lying at my front door
Heaven threw me a bone

A bible! I’d never thought to read
Written with words of red
Curiosity, took the lead
Comfy all night in bed

Pages turning eager to see
Whatever next was there?
Throughout the night enthrallingly
God’s Word has much to share

Wanting to read it through and through
Until I woke again
This God of whom I’m telling you
Visited not in vain

I felt His warmth His arms His touch
Breath, smelling so divine
How could such joy become too much?
How could such love be mine?

Jesus is God, Jesus is Christ
Human, like me and you
The Lamb His Father sacrificed
To grant us birth anew

Through faith in The One, I know now
The same in The Book I read
Who’ll seek His face, at His feet bow?
He’ll raise up from the dead.....
