Bred in captivity,
The bird in the cage
Thought it was a pet,
Because it's well fed
More than the flocks
That dare the wild,
Yet the cage is an iron bar
That sets a limit
To its freedom.
Bred in captivity,
The bird in the cage
Thought that the breeder
Meant well for it.
Although it was a bird,
Yet never licensed
to explore the sky
Throughout the breeder's life,
So it was scared of height.
Bred in captivity,
The bird in the cage,
Completely felt alone
When the breeder died
But yet will not explore the sky,
Thinking he might fall from the height
And die before its time.
But one day it took the courage,
To dare the height and forever became free.
Just like the bird in the parable,
Every man remains a slave
If they chose to limit their mind
And tied themselves to their past mistakes,
Or to abusive relationship to avoid heartbreak,
While making a god out of mere mortals
To win their favor but lose their own birthright,
Just like Esau that sold his future for a pot of porridge,
Would have been enslaved till he tried to make a difference.
