Just Me Poem by Wendy Moravec

Just Me

Hey you, stop looking at me like that

I don’t want you staring at me

Like I’m something I’m not.

Don’t go wasting those praises on me

I’m just living my life

As hard as it may be.

Don’t look at me like I’m your Savior

I’m just as clueless as you

Look at me, really see me.

I’m just a person, not your bloody hero.

I don’t have the time to live my life for you

I’m still trying to figure it out for me.

So don’t you dare look to me for the answers that you seek.

I don’t wanna be on a pedestal

Where I can’t reach the ground.

It’s way too high in the air for me

And I’m likely to fall, fall down.

So don’t look at me with those eyes

As though I’m one to worship.

I’m just as confused as anyone else

About the way this world revolves.
