Just You And Just Me Poem by Mustafa Marconi

Just You And Just Me

I look to see how things have been
I see the elders raising their grandchildren
This is not the way I want this to be
Honestly baby, just you and just me
Off with your mother now you go
What the future will bring I really don’t know
I look forward to our moment of unity
For what’s best for my girl is a priority to me
I think of the time I first held you near
When the base of your mind was so fertile and clear
It’s funny how time has passed us by
It will soon be a year since I first heard you cry
Off with your mother now you go
What tomorrow will bring I really don’t know
I look forward to our moments of harmony
For the growth of my baby is important to me
I look to see how life has been
I see the elders raising their grandchildren
This is not the way I inspire to be
Honestly baby, just you and just me
