Saa snart jeg Violer kan sanse,
da længes jeg tyst efter Græs,
efter krusede Bukkar-Kranse
og Landsbyers Pile og Gæs,
fjærnt ud over Fodtrins-Dønningen
mellem Søndermarken og Grønningen.

Men i den grønne Oktober
med Solskin af plettet Guld
jeg drømmer om Urskov og Cooper
blandt Blade og fugtig Muld
og gaar til en Dam bag Østerbro
at fiske Alger og Krebseklo ...
