Kitty Full Of Mischief Poem by Eve Roper

Kitty Full Of Mischief

Kitty, Kitty
where is my sweet snugly Kitty?
You're full of mischief, but witty;
my furry fur ball so pretty.

You're so pampered with chasers and teasers,
smarty skitter critters catnip cat please-errs.
You love to hide and stick out your paw
striking at anything that goes by, not to mention
purposely lying down in my way for attention.

It's Christmas and we've brought in a Christmas tree
into our home and underneath the tree,
a pile of beautifully wrapped presents waiting to be opened!

You've claimed it and won't let it be.

It stands tall up against the wall
with balsam pine scent branches that call
to you. You sink you claws into the scaly bark
and climb and hide within the branches.

A glitter reflection of light catches your attention,
those little paws can't resist slapping
at the blinking
lights, silver tinsel, and colorful ornaments.

Oh, Kitty, you've taken one too many chances.
You've gotten too far-out and bent the branch
losing your balance,
toppling the Christmas tree causing an avalanche
of colorful ornaments to the floor!

Frighten, you zoomed out of the room
and hid under the bed.

Kitty, Kitty
where is my sweet snugly Kitty?
