Obscurity we see eventually,
but the obvious, always takes longer it seems
No matter where we go, or what we do,
we will live our entire lives within our head
And through the ages, though things may change,
only our indifference remains the same
For there is no right or wrong, no rhyme nor reason,
only a planet spinning and creatures dreaming
Our greatest guise we spend our lives to build,
not to hide the evil and ugly, but the emptiness within
And we are still afraid of the dark,
though the candles are lit and the demons are dead
For our greatest fears and trepidation's
can be summed up in just one thing
When you peer into the darkness,
the darkness you see, resides within your head
While weak eyes seek shiny things,
strong eyes seek only the truth within
And search for those who seek it too,
and forever doubt those, who proclaim to know
So beware, lest you lose your one true self,
by glittering gold, or grasping at shadows
After all, who is more gripped by fright,
the child afraid of the dark, or the man afraid of the light
When next you knock on the sky, pause a moment,
and listen to the music of the universe
After all, there are no mistakes in life,
and no snowflake ever falls out of place
For the same pathway you strode yesterday,
will reveal the world again brand new
And leave you yearning for sun and stars,
roses and snow, all at once, together in view
