Langs Havet - Poem by Sophus Niels Christen Claussen

Sol gaar ned under øde Bred,
hvor Stargræs strutter i vindtørt Grus.
Det klare Blaa fanger kølig Fred.
Havstokken tier i Fraland-Sus.

Havet ruller stille og stort,
et Væsen af Liv, hvis Floders Drag
som sendt fra en eneste Hjærteport
har Vilje gemt i hvert sagte Slag.

Det ruger som Mythernes Midgaardsorm
og slaar med sin Hale i Breddens Sand.
Jeg gaar med min Skat i den stigende Storm.
Vore Fodtrin befæster det vigende Land.
