Hi, I have always loved this poem as it was recited by my Father but there are a few lines at the begging god of this poem you have omitted.
They are as follows...
It’s all very well to wear dry shoes,
To carry umbrellas and read the news
But tonight I’m sick of the whole affair,
I want free life and I want fresh air,
Etc, etc
Best wishes,
Paul
My mother often recited this magnificent poem. It began with, Its all very well to write reviews and carry umbrellas and keep dry shoes, to say what everyone is saying there and wear what everyone else must wear.
