Lasting Moments... Poem by Araek Maharba

Lasting Moments...

Somethings last a lifetime,
Nothing lasts forever.

We met on the streets,
Asked for my number,
Tried to get in my sheets.

Somethings last a lifetime,
Will I forget how you kissed me?

Pulled me in softly,
Close to each other.

Although we must remember,
Nothing lasts forever.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this after a guy chased me down a block just to get my number; thinking he was old fashioned and a gentleman. When we got to my place he only wanted to see my room, when I didn't sleep with him he didn't call or text me for weeks. Which turned into months. So I have decided to start sharing my short free-verse poems to hope that maybe I can recieve comtrusctive criticism or help inspire those that are like me...self-doubting and our own biggest critic.
