Laugh Of The Just Poem by Rhys Owens

Laugh Of The Just

i want to laugh so loud
from the solitude of my room
that it'll kill all my enemies
with the envy of the dead.

i want the prosecuting attorney
to be laughed out of court
when my case is brought before a judge.

i want women to stop thinking
the world owes them something
more
just because they were born with a different set of functions.

i want men to stop
referring to women using words
they usually use when
they refer to lower forms of animals.

i want people to know
that many artists use drugs
because they're in unbearable pain.
and if they use those same drugs
if they're not an artist,
or in unbearable pain,
it'll just make them stupid.

i have nothing to say to the world
that the world doesn't already know.
i have nothing to say to the world that the world
hasn't already said to me:
because i am in this world for a reason.

i want to laugh so loud
from the solitary confinement of my locked cell
that all the doctors go insane.
and start talking like human beings.
