Laughter In My Spirit Poem by Jimmy L. Lyons

Laughter In My Spirit

This poem goes out to a comedian
who came to our church not long ago.
She was telling her jokes and singing her songs,
and she was putting on quite a show.

She told us her life story,
and all of it was news to me.
We all laughed and laughed and laughed out loud;
that lady set our spirits free.

I've thought about that lady
who came to our church to cheer it.
With her funny lines and her beautiful voice
she brought laughter to our spirits.

God has been good to this woman.
He has made her one of the best.
He has given us reasons to love what she does,
and to know how much we are blessed.

I'm praying a prayer for you, Lady Q.
I hope you keep doing what you do.
Your talents are lifting the spirits of others,
and my heart goes out to you.
