Laurel Hay Poem by Adam Thoms

Laurel Hay

Laurel Hay; a songwriter I met when I was surveying
Made my day with the way she spoke so simply transcending
Time & day and when she sang transcended even setting
I more than may have been swept away by Laurel Hay

Laurel Hay; a performer I met when I was pondering.
On the way to thinking, 'some people are meant to write, others to sing'
'Who's to say that everyone could be good at everything.'
She'd parlay, 'Anyone could be good at anything.'

I grow
Off your glow

Cause the moon you are to me.
A lunar landing and you'll see,
That to me you are the world;
Diamond studded, pearled.

Laurel Hay; a therapist I met when I was counseling,
Showed me the way to expand my diaphragm and start to sing.
She's smile & say, 'To get the trick and make it stick try practicing.'
'Then someday you may be able to play like Laurel Hay.'

Laurel Hay; a conisuer I met when I was composing,
A soufflet of the breakfast varie-tay (variety)
For the day when I wake up next to Laurel Hay

I grow
Off your glow

Cause the moon you are to me.
A lunar landing and you'll see,
That to me you are the world;
Diamond studded, pearled.

Laurel Hay; please accept this as a substitue for diamond ring.
Comprende' this song with someday be replaced with the real thing.
Come what may just throw some notes with inside jokes & start to sing.
And we'll be okay the songs we write will pave the way.
