'Always naked, clean and pure as souls slipped glistening from the body's warm wick, like my husband's fingers when he dips
into me, then lifts them to his face, heavy with glaze, the leaves crowded against our window, shivering.' ~DORIANNE LAUX~
As I reach for the small of your back,
the warmth of your smile and your personality
elude me yet again. Like a lit candle, your presence
always fleeting, though never permanent, like some wandering
spirit seeking pleasure through another's company. These days, I don't dare ask how your own carnal relationships progress, and worse yet, reminisce about your childhood memories and experiences even less.
Kaleidoscope of color behind my eyes,
from nostalgia's bed, daily you rise,
while heart's hearth burning forever,
I'll always remember that which faith preserves
beyond color and class lines to partake of loving kindness
while autumn winds blow and summer sun shines on your soul.
