Lessons Learned Poem by Aldo Kraas

Lessons Learned

Lessons learned
From our father
We had learned
Many years ago
When we had our confirmation
We had been only a teenager
Back then
Also, our father had thought
Us to pray
And we had prayed together
With our father
Also, we prayed for each other
Many years ago
When we had our confirmation
Today we are adults
And our teenager's lives
We already lived
Also, our father had
Given us lots of freedom
To live our lives
The way we want
Yes father we have good
Friends in our lives
That you also created
Them with your holy hands
And also placed them here
On earth to live
And they must tell you
That they are also
Happy with Their lives
That your father gave them
To live
Also, they hope to be alive
Every single day here
On earth
Also father they pray for you
Every single night before they go
To bed
Also, it only takes a few minutes
For them to pray to you
Now finally they are going
To sleep
Because it is getting late already
Past there bedtime
Yes father you made the night
For us to sleep
Also, the night is long
We must tell you, father
Also father we don't need to take
Sleeping pills
Because we just don't have trouble
Sleeping
We sleep fine at night
Yes father tomorrow will be
Another day
That you will bring first
The thing in the morning
And we are already waiting for it
Also, we hope it doesn't rain tomorrow
Because we just want some sunshine
All-day long
