Let Light In

You’re walking tall you seldom fail
Scarcely a moan or groan
Yet give no thought of those in jail
You walk in vain alone

You’re bound to lose life’s vital fight
If no one yet explains
For you my friend are void of Light?
And bound with selfish chains

Our heart must have some pity there
Some tenderness of soul
Concern, compassion, love and care
If we’re to find the goal

The goal of everlasting peace
Pleasures and joy unknown
Where sounds of laughter never cease
And love is on the throne

Perhaps you’re bound with foolish pride
Perhaps you fail to see
With sin; your heart’s so firmly tied
You’ve lost all hope to flee

There is one way! One certain road
No fool would cast aside
Give Christ my friend your heavy load
Let Jesus turn the tide

Regardless how we’ve lived before
Since Jesus gave us breath
In life there’s only one thing sure
The ice cold hands of death

Bid Light to come within your heart
Let Christ be on your throne
Let Jesus’ blood create a start
And melt your heart of stone
