Let Me Be Poem by Jocelynn Halbauer

Let Me Be

From where I sit
I see your face
I hear your voice
I feel my place
It's here, I know
Safe in your arms
Hidden from sight
Hidden from harm
There's no one left
For us to fight
There's only us
And what feels right
Tired of yelling
Sick of running
The screaming in my
Head's now humming
It sings a song
Of utter calm
That's what I want
Is that so wrong?
To sit at night
And hold your hand
Without this drama
Please understand
I've lived my life
I'm tired. I'm through.
For now I want
This time with you.
