Let My Soul Go Free Poem by James Hunter

Let My Soul Go Free

Rating: 5.0

Lying in a shallow grave
My heart has spilled its blood
Lying down and giving up
I've lost the ones I love
How do I expect from me
To go on living in this life
Everything I've known and loved
Is darkened like the night
Their shadows over power me
I do not want to fight
Instead I freely give the gift
Of my immortal life
Do your will, go on I said
Let my soul go free
Nothings left but skin and bones
That is no longer me
Guide me to the ones I love
Don't send me straight to hell
My escape is only half complete
From my imprisoned cell
