Let's Get Them Married Poem by Emmanuel Arunee Mwanza

Let's Get Them Married

Come
"Come all,
Let's get them married"
Would be a statement
From
Happy parents
Proud of their children
Getting into a holy matrimony
…. (Sigh)
Now….
Wait,
Take a pause
Take a long deep breath
Then think,
Think of it in another way
"Let's get them married"
Be the statement from,
Us,
As citizens
Full of hope
Filled with love, kindness,
Citizens minding of life and humanity
Would be happy
To say
'Come,
Come all,
Let's marry peace with freedom'
Let's marry Tolerance with love
And what would stop us now?
Hate?
Greed?
No! ! !
And what would stop us from marrying
Hope to dreams?
As we hope and dream
Hoping for a better life, a better world
With our dreams of brighter days
Hunger free days, poverty free days
And what is there to stop us from marrying
Understanding with mediation?
Irrespective of race, region, gender, beliefs
What's is there to stop us from marrying various religions
To live closer and stronger as one people
Marrying
Rebirth with quitting old habits
Should we choose that path?
Then there is a new Beginning to the world
Just as two people do, once they marry
And we could be the happiest
And proud people
To see all our fruits come to materialize
As they would be the children that we will marry
And they shall make us Proud! ! !
